Walter Ganz

Director Fraunhofer Institut

Walter Ganz is keynote speaker on Germany's lessons  on testing innovative services (11:30 ‑ 11:55).

Walter Ganz M.A. is director and member of the board of the Fraunhofer Institut für Arbeitswirtschaft und Organisation (IAO), part of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering. The institute employs 240 researchers working on around 200 projects.Walter Ganz held research positions at Max-Planck-Institute Freiburg and at Infratest - ICT Research Centre Munich. Walter Ganz joined the Fraunhofer Institute in 1990. Currently he is director and member of the board of the Fraunhofer IAO Stuttgart and head of the research department “Human Resource Management” and “Service-Engineering and –Management”.

In addition, he supports the  Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) in  Germany regarding the development of research programs and activities in the field of “Innovation in Services”. Furthermore, he is a member of advisory boards of the Ministries of Economics for the establishment of service topics; coordinator of the Innovation Initiative “Partner for Innovation” in Germany; member of the “Key Technologies Group” and  “Business Related Services (BRS)” Group at the European Commission; member of Service Research and Innovation Initiative (SRII) Advisory Council”; member of the Board of RESER “European Association for Research on Services”; head of the Jury Board of the “Service Initiative” of the State Nordrhein Westfalen, Germany; member of the Board SRI AP of ITRI, Taiwan; member of the Expert Group “Standardization in Services” of the DIN, Germany; Scientific Board member of the ISSS Conference in Leipzig 2009, Germany; and Conference Chair of ICSSI, Beijing 2010, China.
